NoAI in Podcasts Pledge

No AI Content

I will not use generative AI to create any part of the podcast content including:

• Scripts: I will write all scripts entirely by myself or with the help of human collaborators.
• Audio: I will not use audio clips, sound effects, or music created by generative AI.
• Artwork: I will not use artwork for podcast covers, branding, or promotional materials created by AI.

No AI Assistence

I will not use generative AI tools to assist with any aspect of my podcast:

• Editing: I will not use generative AI to edit or enhance my audio.
• Transcription: I will not use generative AI to transcribe my podcast episodes.
• Research: I will not use generative AI to gather or analyze information for my podcast.

Exceptions

In all cases where there is an exception, I will disclose clearly and upfront my use of generative AI. It must not be reasonably possible for someone to unknowingly consume AI content.

• AI-Focused Research or Education: If the purpose of using generative AI is for education on the subject or research into generative AI, for instance, I am sharing my research into generative AI in podcast form.
• Accessibility: If I do not have the ability to produce transcripts or other accessibility aids my audience requires, I may use generative AI to generate said accessibility aids. I will make it clear if a transcript was produced in part or whole by generative AI, and that it may contain mistakes and miss key details of the listening experience. I commit to replacing generative AI accessibility aids when I am able.

Good Faith Effort

I will make a reasonable effort to avoid using generative AI, recognizing that it may be difficult to completely eliminate its presence in my content. I am committed to removing generative AI content later discovered in my work.

Third Parties

I am not responsible for the generative AI use of third-party content, such as advertisements. I will be transparent with my audience where generative AI use is outside of my control and, where possible, seek to avoid working with third parties who use generative AI.

Past AI Use

I understand that if I have used generative AI in the past. I will disclose where it was used, and must actively work to remove and replace generative AI elements.

Definitions

AI is defined as any generative pre-trained transformer that produces text, audio or images. This definition deliberately does not include all pre-trained neural networks.
